About Sky Plus
Sky Plus is a service from Sky Digital. As with Sky’s standard product you get access to a range of TV channels via satellite, depending on the entertainment packs and premium (sports and films) packs you have signed up for.
However if you sign up to Sky Plus, you also get a Sky Plus Box – a personal video recorder, or PVR. Unlike the standard Sky Box, which just lets you access the programmes, with a Sky Plus Box you can also pause, rewind and record live TV.
You can also record two different programmes at the same time so you can watch them when you want.
On a Sky Plus Box you get 40 hours of recording time – and there are no timers or tapes to worry about.
And you can record many series simply by pressing one button, with Series Link – so you don’t have to miss an episode of your favourite series or TV serials.
You can also now Remote Record with Sky Plus – so if you are working late or out with friends, and you remember that you have forgotten to record a programme, you can set your Sky Plus Box to record remotely: either via your mobile phone, or from the Sky website. (There are also other Sky boxes available – the standard Sky Box, which is free when you sign up to Sky TV, and the Sky Plus HD Box, with high definition, 80 hours recording time or 30 hours of HD – currently FREE with the monthly HD pack.)

Sky Plus costs and charges
The Sky Plus Box is currently £49 to new Sky Plus customers signing up to Sky TV – a big discount from its usual price of £150.
You will also need to select the Sky TV entertainment packs and premium sports / films packs. There are six entertainment packs, a sports premium pack and a films premium pack. One entertainment mix costs only £18 a month. And all six entertainment mixes – Style & Culture, News, Variety, Kids, Music and Knowledge – costs only £23 a month! Premium mixes cost extra, for example sports and films.

You can also pay for one or more extra Sky Plus Boxes so you can watch different Sky TV programmes in different rooms at the same time – this is called Sky Multiroom, and also requires a Sky Multiroom subscription of £10 a month for each extra room.
